Disneyland Paris Excitement

Sadly I recently moved home from London, but that means I'm finally only days away from starting my DCP! In the mean time I decided to take one last trip before leaving the continent.

You're a true Disney fan if you have been to Disneyland Paris, but have never made it to Paris! And that has been me twice! I recently took a trip to Disneyland Paris as I say goodbye to my life in London. This trip was extra special this time because my mom got to come with me.

For those of you who have never been, Disneyland Paris is structured as a mix of Disneyland and Disney World. There are two separate parks with Downtown Disney right beside them in a similar fashion to Disneyland; however, Disneyland Paris also has several themed hotels similar to Disney World. There are hotels that are within walking distance of Downtown Disney and the parks and a few that require a bus to take you too them.

One of my favorite aspects of Disneyland Paris is the nostalgia it brings with it.

While having magic bands and being able to schedule Fastpasses 60 days in advance has its perks, there's just something great about doing things the old fashioned way. And maybe that's just me being old and connecting with my childhood memories of running around the parks trying to get as many Fastpasses as we could, but I just preferred that system. There was a certain level of spontaneity that went with not knowing which rides you would get on or how many Fastpasses you would be able to get. That's something I miss, but it's something that can still be experienced in Disneyland Paris.

In Disneyland Paris only a select few rides offer Fastpasses, but the ones that do, do it the old fashioned way. There are kiosks next to each ride for Fastpasses and the times of the Fastpasses go up depending on how many people are getting Fastpasses for that ride. The more people getting Fastpasses, the quicker the time increases. In Disneyland Paris I can relive those childhood days of running around, not knowing what I'm going to ride next, and trying to get as many Fastpasses as possible.

Enough of memory lane though! Without further ado, here's to my Disneyland Paris excitement!

One of the great things about travelling to Disneyland Paris is how easy it is to get to. From London, the Eurostar takes about two and a half hours if you get a direct train and it drops you off right at the gates to Disney! My Disneyland Paris trip consisted of two full days and two half days due to travel and it was plenty of time to experience all that Disneyland Paris has to offer. Because Disneyland Paris is a smaller park, it means it makes for the perfect weekend getaway!

One of my favorite parts about going to new parks around the world is the integration of other cultures into the parks and the new twists on classic rides! One of my favorite ride twists is Disneyland Paris's version of Space Mountain. Here it's called Hyperspace Mountain and the ride begins by launching you from the outside up a steep ramp into the classic indoor part of Space Mountain! It also throws in several loops. It definitely adds a thrill to this classic ride!

Ultimately, my trip to Disneyland Paris was a great way to say goodbye to my time in Europe, while also getting me excited for the next chapter of my life, which is spending the next semester working in Disney World! This trip provided the perfect transition between these two chapters of my life!
